My Favorite Photos of 2009

This post features my photos of the year, organized by month. Some months feature two photos, some one, some three... it was hard to choose! We are lucky to have had another year filled with good health and travels and time with family and friends! Both of my brothers got married, my little sister was confirmed, we visited Grand Cayman and Maui, and we adopted London girl... here's hoping 2010 is equally as amazing as 2009.

January

Both of my January photos are from my brother Derek's wedding. I just love how they are looking at each other as they dance in the first photo, and the second photo of him is my all-time favorite from that day. The look on his face is pure happiness!

February

I must have lost my camera in February because I really didn't take any photos. This one is from my Blackberry. I took one day while driving to work and I kind of liked it. :)

March

In March, Jason and I went to Disney to attend a few Braves spring training games. This was the first time we enjoyed the Toy Story Mania ride. We've been hooked ever since! (And now own the Wii version!) We also had a cousins' night out at a local establishment. This photo is my youngest sister and my youngest brother. They're 15 years apart in age, and I don't think I've ever taken a photo of the two of them together before. It amazes us constantly how she is growing up into a little adult right before our eyes.

April

I had a hard time choosing which photos to include from our April getaway to Grand Cayman. This was one of the most fabulous vacations... it was truly a week of relaxation and fun. J did a lot of diving, I did too much sunbathing, and we enjoyed fine food, spirits, and adventures all week long! I can't wait to go back!!

May

Lindsay was confirmed in May, and this photo of my sisters and me is one of my faves from that day. We went to watch Reece play t-ball at the end of the month, and I snagged this photo of J and my goddaughter, cutie Katie.

June

June into July was phenomenal as we spent two weeks in Hawaii. My sisters even joined us for one of the weeks! We spent most of our time in Maui and also ventured to Oahu/Waikiki for one weekend. These are some of my favorite memories from that trip.

July

We were married 07/07/07, so we celebrated our two-year anniversary this past July. Although we didn't capture a photo on 7/7/08, we decided we would try to take a photo of the two of us on our anniversary every year. Say cheese! The other photo features Chase, my soon-to-be 10 year old black Lab who lives on my parents' farm. He doesn't get to visit too often but he came for a visit this day and enjoyed chasing a tennis ball and romping around the yard! Now he and London are the best of friends :)

August

Wedding preparations time... Laurie's shower was held on a sunny August day, where I snapped this photo of adorable Miss Katelyn and this candid of my two sisters. It depicts their relationship perfectly. And, of course, August is the month London came home to us!

September

My brother, who is completely smitten with his new Mrs., was married in September. The wedding was in Vegas, and we had an amazing trip there to witness that event, but these photos are from their reception the following weekend. I cannot recall if I took this photo or if it was J, but I love, love it. It's not often that the five of us get together for a complete "siblings" photo, but something about the colors and the smiles on our faces make this a favorite of the year.

October

Finally some more London photos. :) One crisp day in October she and I ventured into the yard for a fall photo shoot. She is such a beautiful dog. In October our family welcomed young Layne, my cousin's new son, and this is my first day meeting him.

November

In early November J took us on a short flight to take aerial photos of my school. And here is sweetie London resting in front of our tree. We decorated for Christmas the weekend after Thanksgiving.

December

Yes, we're one of thoooooose couples- dog owners who do photo shoots with their pup in front of the Christmas tree. :) I know the month isn't quite over, but I am sure these will be two of my faves for the month. It was a merry Christmas, indeed, at our house!

Thanks for journeying back through 2009 with me. This post helped me see what an amazingly lucky person I am. Happy new year to you all!

Merry Christmas.

Enjoy your day, with family and friends, with dogs and cats, with coworkers and neighbors, with whomever you are blessed to have in your life. We've had a wonderful holiday so far and look forward to another day of sharing. It's early morning here and I love that the lights on both of our Christmas trees shine bright, and the glisten of last week's snow still covers the yard and trees like a soft blanket. It has been an amazing 2009 and this weekend I will be working on posting my favorite photos of 2009 as inspired by the amazing Stephanie Howell, visit her here! I feel lucky we have a new family member to share the holiday spirit with, she has been such a perfect addition to our family. Have a blessed day!

When in need.

I have been a blogging slacker.
I don't post often, I feel like I don't share a lot of what's going on with me, creatively and personally, and I guess that's OK. Lately I have been swamped with work and life and am finding it difficult to find time to post something meaningful.
So I considered deleting this blog.
This morning I started working on 2009 Christmas cards (I have 7 completed, then I sat down and made "the list"... turns out I only need about 30 more, good times!)
And I couldn't remember what last year's cards looked like exactly.
I didn't save any.
So I turned to my trusty blog, and sure enough, in the Dec 2008 archives, I posted some photos of my cards. Hooray!
Then I took a look at that list of archives- 2006? I have been posting on this blog since 2006? It seems unfathomable to me how time seems to be moving at such an unsettling pace.
I will not delete this blog today. But I will spend time going back through my archived posts and reading my interpretations of what was going on in my life the past few years.
I will try to make a better effort to post, and I thank you to those who have checked in with me at some point in time these past few years!!

Hello, neglected blog.

It's been too long.

Thankfully this weekend I have time to create with one of the new kits coming in December to Coordinates Collections... the North Pole kit!
In other news, I saw this last night

goodness.... gracious.
definitely enjoyed the movie more than the Twilight movie, even though I detested reading book 2.
I am sooo ready for Eclipse the movie.

From the princess....

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

This costume:
a) was purchased at 7:29 PM at a local grocery store in preparation for our 7:30 trick-or-treater visit
b) is made for a small dog
c) probably caused her doggy self-esteem to suffer
d) is stinkin' adorable.

Enjoy your weekend!
